Farewell Heidi Burdett
It's a gloomy day here in the Nature Microbiology office as we say goodbye to an amazing colleague (while celebrating her exciting new role of course).
It’s a sad day for Nature Microbiology as we’re saying farewell to our colleague Dr Heidi Burdett, who’s moving back to academia and starting up a lab at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. In her year with us, Heidi has been an enthusiastic champion for the microbial ecology and microbiome fields. Heidi’s dedication to the role, her energy and positivity has been truly infectious (sorry) and the whole team are incredibly sad to see her go. However, our loss is definitely academia’s gain and we wish Heidi all the very best in her research in years to come.
Heidi may also be recognizable to some of you as the editor who interrogated Professor Neil Gow at the Microbiology Society meeting in Liverpool earlier in the year, fearlessly asking him the little questions in our first ever micro-interview.
Well, as part of Heidi’s leaving party we turned the tables on her – take a look at Micro-Interview #2 here. Enjoy!
Farewell then Heidi, we will all miss you terribly. Make sure to stay in touch and keep active here on the Community.
on behalf of the entire Nature Microbiology team.
