In the face of the urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic, Springer Nature Experiments has identified over 160 protocols & methods on coronavirus and gives full access to this content to accelerate the fight against coronavirus.

Globally, labs are developing their own assays for SARS-CoV-2 virus detection and some labs that are in the assay validation process are facing unexpected bottlenecks such as reagent supply shortage, lack of instrument access and so on.  Many in-house and commercial molecular assays to diagnose COVID-19 virus are being developed.

To support these efforts, out of the 160+ articles we have compiled eight articles which are exclusive on coronavirus diagnosis. Specifically, the diagnostic workflow entails multiple steps ranging from sample handling, viral RNA extraction, RT-PCR, sequencing and data analysis. We have curated the content to provide step-by step procedure in each of the methods and their respective materials so that the scientist can easily find, compare between protocols and implement it in their laboratory settings. In addition to this, SpringerNature wide initiative has done to support the ongoing public health crisis by providing complimentary access to all its resources on COVID-19.
