Ry has been doing phage biology for 45 years, including 38 years as a faculty member at Texas A&M. In 2010, Ry became the first Director of the the Center for Phage Technology, created by the Texas A&M Board of Regents and jointly sponsored by Texas AgriLife Research and Texas A&M University. Ry has been doing phage biology for 45 years, including 38 years as a faculty member at Texas A&M. In 2010, Ry became the first Director of the the Center for Phage Technology, created by the Texas A&M Board of Regents and jointly sponsored by Texas AgriLife Research and Texas A&M University. This resulted in four faculty hires over the next three years, to augment the existing core of faculty interested in phage biology.
